CEE HPN HOSTED THE INTERNATIONAL PROJECT MEETING IN BRATISLAVA
In February 2026, CEE HPN hosted an International Project Meeting of the DIGI4Care project in Bratislava, bringing together around 30 project partners from seven countries for two days of intensive collaboration, knowledge exchange and joint planning.
The meeting marked an important milestone as the DIGI4Care project entered its final phase. After two years of piloting digital healthcare solutions across participating countries, partners focused on finalising project activities, analysing and interpreting pilot results, consolidating collected data and translating the experience gained into practical and sustainable outcomes.
A key priority of this final phase was to ensure that the knowledge generated through the pilots would extend beyond the project itself and contribute to the long-term integration of digital innovations into healthcare practice and patient pathways.
An important part of the Bratislava programme was an expert panel discussion dedicated to diabetic retinopathy screening using the AI-powered medical device Aireen, which was piloted in Slovakia within the DIGI4Care project.
The discussion brought together healthcare professionals and representatives of the health insurance and digital health sectors, providing different perspectives on the practical implementation of AI-supported screening and its potential role in the patient pathway.
We would like to thank the panellists for sharing their expertise and practical experience:
MUDr. Pavol Veselý
doc. MUDr. Štefaničková
MUDr. Žákovičová
Matúš Mišuth, DÔVERA zdravotná poisťovňa, a. s.
Jiří Kuchyňa, CEO of Aireen
The Bratislava meeting also highlighted one of the key strengths of DIGI4Care: the strong international and cross-sector partnerships developed throughout the project. Bringing together expertise from different healthcare systems and professional backgrounds enabled partners to jointly reflect on the pilot experience and prepare the project’s final outputs.
